With loved ones gathered alongside our disaster relief partners and Amish volunteers, this new home dedication in Del Rio served as a meaningful reminder of what’s possible through partnership and perseverance.
We were also able to connect with this survivor’s family at our Roots & Reigns event in September. Moments like that reflect the importance of our team being present and willing to serve in whatever ways we can to stay connected with our community. After Hurricane Helene washed away their daughters home along the banks of the French Broad River, we’re grateful to now see her settled into a safe, new place filled with hope for her and her children.

Are you a compassionate, self-motivated person who wants to make a real difference for your neighbors still recovering from Hurricane Helene? We're looking for an independent contractor to join our team.
20–25 hrs/week | 6-month contract | 1099 | Compensation discussed at interview
You'll be meeting survivors where they are — in their communities, churches, and homes — connecting them with disaster recovery resources and assisting our case management team with intake. This is boots-on-the-ground, heart-first work.
We're looking for someone who:
✔ Has a background in social work, counseling, nursing, or other people-centered work
✔ Is a strong, independent self-starter
✔ Brings genuine compassion and good judgment to every interaction
✔ Can drive a vehicle and is willing to engage across a variety of community settings.
Basic computer skills and ability to pass a background check required.

The Spring & Summer season is starting to heat up! We had two teams in last week building a deck, painting a metal roof, angling the back field of a home, and landscaping debris removal. They also finished setting up a seperate new home with finishing supplies by hunging curtains , installing shower rods and curtains, filling the kitchen with dishes and silverware, and even setting up and programming a television for one survivor! Thank you so much and you guys were amazing!
