Recent Flash Flooding in Cocke county has impacted our community! The past week has seen all of us at CCLTRG doing outreach to see where we can help, as this disaster occured while our offices were closed on May 28th 2026. Here is a list of resources we've compiled in partnership with the Cocke County Emergency Management Agency

Below you will find two ways to donate funds specifically for the May 28, 2026 flash flood event:
Cocke County Partnership maintains the Mountain Strong fund at First Horizon Bank to support flood-affected citizens within Cocke County. After Helene CCP Anyone wanting to make a donation to it, may do so in person at the Partnership or go online at our website and click the button at the bottom of the page: cockecountypartnership.com/mountain-strong/
East Tennessee Foundation maintains a Neighbor To Neighbor Disaster Fund to support disaster relief and recovery as needed in our region. To donate through the East Tn Foundation to their fund to specifically support Cocke and Greene County from the May 28th flooding event:

We are excited to welcome our newest team member, Chelsea Bryant!
Chelsea is our new outreach/intake person. This means that she is working to help survivors who haven’t yet signed up with disaster recovery as well as being available in the community to share information on the LTRG. It is our hope that no one gets left behind or forgotten as we continue helping residents recover from Helene and this position will ensure we have maximum efforts towards that goal.
Chelsea is a proud veteran and Cocke County native with a heart for serving her community. With hands-on disaster relief experience across three states, Chelsea has dedicated herself to helping individuals and families rebuild after times of crisis. She is also the founder of A Touch of Grace, a local nonprofit focused on recovery, outreach, and restoring hope throughout the region.
Chelsea’s passion is to see Cocke County flourish physically, economically, and spiritually, while ensuring that those still impacted by Hurricane Helene are not forgotten. She is honored and grateful to serve alongside the incredible team at Cocke County Long Term Recovery Group as they continue working together to bring healing, restoration, and support to the community.

We wish you a wonderful day of remembrance this Memorial Day. Time off to honor our loved ones and share time with family is a gift.

A Huge Thank You to Everyone Who Applied!
We are overwhelmed with gratitude — and honestly, a little overwhelmed in the best possible way! The response to our Disaster Recovery Outreach Worker opening was incredible, and the talent and heart that came through in each application reminded us just how special this community is.
Choosing was genuinely hard. Every person who applied brought something meaningful to the table, and we did not take this decision lightly.
But — we are absolutely thrilled to share that we HAVE made our decision, and we cannot wait to welcome a brand new team member to the Cocke County LTRG family!
Stay tuned — we'll be making the official introduction in just a couple of weeks. We think you're going to love them as much as we already do.

Beginning our area May 27th, Masters level students from the University of Albany will be in our area conducting research on the process and effectiveness of aid relief. The goal of this research is to learn and share best practices to support future disaster survivors. Please reach out if you would like to be a part of this timely research with the University of Albany.
